AEP files for reduction of part of customer’s bill

Appalachian Power has filed its annual fuel factor update with the Virginia State Corporation Commission and is requesting a reduction in the fuel rate for its customer in Virginia. Fuel costs are about 20 percent of a residential customer’s electric bill and are determined by the SCC annually. The adjustment will make a 1000 kWh customer’s bill drop from $108.67 to $105.66. If approved, the reduction will go into effect in November.
