Thought I would see what other folks are doing.  I don't do Doordash a lot because of the extra expense, but Wild Magnolia and Shindig have been offering free delivery, so they have been my choice.  Not as cheap as some restaurants, but the free delivery made up for it.  Shindigs Bourbon Fried Chicken is really good and it comes with hot potato salad, which is super delicious!!

We haven't done one delivery since the emergency order went into effect. Earlier this week my wife was working in Danville and stopped and got us a couple of lasagna dinners from Elizabeth's. I've done the drive thru a few times for a biscuit when I've had to be out early, but other than that, we've eaten at home. I wish I could say I've lost some weight, but not the case.

We did the door dash with Wild Mags....it was decent but hard to get a steak to you fresh off the grill in a delivery. Been doing takeout at Walsh's a lot, trying to help them folks out.

We've picked up Japanese a few times from the Japanese restaurant just down the road, and we've had pizza delivered. Other than that, my wife did freezer meals to last us throughout the month and that has worked out pretty well for us.

I was going for a chic-fil-a sandwich today and forgot they are closed on Sunday so Taco Bell got me. I had to go to Bassett today and looked like the outdoor dining at the Mexican restaurants and Coaches had plenty of customers.

I wonder how likely people are going to want to eat inside eating places once they reopen for indoor dining or will takeout/drive thru/curbside be the new normal?

I’m not a good judge of mainstream behavior. Not good in my line of work, but true. I think people do what they do more by habit. We’ve been at this long enough that people have formed different habits. I think that’s going to be the biggest hurdle. I know I liked to go out and grab lunch once in awhile by myself just for the change of scenery. Now I’m in the habit of working from home and fixing a sandwich and a bowl of soup. Other than willing myself back out, I’ve gotten comfortable with it.

It will be awhile before I go sit down inside to eat. I am good with drive thru or takeout and bringing home to eat. Can still support establishments that way.

Well the wife fixed a huge pot of homemade vegetable soup last night that should last us until the pandemic is over. If it continues to rain and act like winter around here, I'll continue to pretend it is. The soup suits me fine.
