Murder suspect turns himself in

Tremain Alando Thomas

20 year-old Tremain Alanso Thomas of 117 Springdale Drive in Stoneville, North Carolina turned himself in to police after a manhunt began.  Thomas is charged with the second-degree murder of 22 year-old Akoreon JaJuantez “A.J.” Murphy of Madison Street in Eden, North Carolina and the malicious wounding of Demarcus LaVon Hairston of Martinsville in an incident that occurred in Irisburg on Tuesday.

Sheriff Lane Perry said Thursday evening that Thomas was in a North Carolina jail and he didn’t know whether Thomas was going to waive extradition or not.

Murphy was shot in the back and Hairston was shot in the neck.
