City Seeks Input on Uptown Business Incentives
MARTINSVILLE, Va. – Martinsville City Council and the Uptown Partners Management Team recently approved the Uptown Master Plan, and within the plan, there are many recommendations to make our area a place that attracts people to live, shop, work, play, and learn. City staff and members of the management team are working together to develop an incentive package to help foster new business development and expansion in the Uptown area, which is a fundamental objective of the master plan.
City staff is in the process of contacting surrounding communities for information on their incentives and revitalization success stories. In addition, the city is seeking input from residents and local business owners to assist in this process. City staff plans to analyze information submitted by other localities and input from the public, to develop a proposed incentive package for city council’s consideration.
Local residents and business owners may submit their ideas in one of two ways:
Either via e-mail to City Planner Susan McCulloch at smcculloch@ci.martinsville.va.us or
Visit the City of Martinsville’s Facebook page from the link on the main page and give your comments. Please respond by deadline of Thursday, February 18.
“We place great value in our residents and business owners and their opinions. It is our hope that by working together with the community we can once again make Uptown Martinsville a destination of choice for local business and consumers,” said City Planner Susan McCulloch.
