Unemployment rates down, Martinsville still has highest rate

The Virginia Employment Commission issued it’s monthly report today. Unemployment rates fell from from 6.9 percent in July to 6.5 percent in August. It is the second consecutive month that the rate has declined. The number of jobless workers declined by 18,900 to 271,800.
